According to TuttoMercatoWeb, Newcastle have made a bid of £40 million for Armando Broja. They have bettered Southampton’s offer of £30 million for the Albanian. However, Chelsea does not want to let the forward leave the club on a permanent basis. Broja is currently on loan at Southampton and is helping them get some good results.

Newcastle is desperate for new signings as they are currently struggling in the relegation zone. Many players are linked to Newcastle in the market due to the Arab takeover of the club. However, few players seem to be onboard with Newcastle’s idea of a rebuild. They want to sign Armando Broja who they think can help them stay in the league.

He has scored 7 goals for Southampton in 20 appearances in all competitions. Southampton have not been the most productive this season but Broja’s contribution to the game has attracted Newcastle’s interest. He is just 20-years-old and can improve a lot more in the coming years if he keeps up this form.

Chelsea will not like it if they let him leave and he becomes a sensation later on. Moreover, a few big names from the forward lineup at Chelsea have their future unclear at the club. Nevertheless, Southampton will like to make full use of the Albanian and might even try to convince Chelsea for a permanent deal.

Why Chelsea is reluctant to let Armando Broja leave on a permenant deal?

Chelsea is already facing a few issues with their strikers as Romelu Lukaku‘s long-term future at the club seems questionable after his controversial interview. Timo Werner does provide the work rate but has fallen short in scoring goals for Chelsea. In case the Blues suffer another injury crisis in the attacking lineup, Armando Broja can fill up the shoes for someone.

Broja has been sensational for Southampton this season with all his goals, runs, and work off the ball. He would also be a good fit for Newcastle but Chelsea would not want to repeat their mistakes again and again. The Blues have let go of some world-class players when they were young and are now somewhat regretting some of their decisions.

Broja is just 20-years-old and can be a menace if he gets regular game time under Thomas Tuchel. Lukaku is now 28-years-old and with an unclear future, he will need replacing sometime soon. Broja won’t be the first-choice striker at Chelsea directly but has the potential to become a first-choice striker in the peak years of his life.

Armando Broja currently needs regular game time which is why he is loaned out by Chelsea. However, due to his great performances, Southampton now wants him on a permanent basis. This has led to interest from Newcastle also as they remain desperate to stay in the Premier League. It will be a bit embarrassing for Newcastle to relegate even after a massive takeover which is why they are offering lucrative deals to their targets.
