Spezia manager Luca Gotti has promised Chelsea fans that Ethan Ampadu will be developed in the right way

Spezia manager Luca Gotti has assured Chelsea fans that he will look after the young Chelsea defender this season. Moreover, he also added that Chelsea considers him as a ‘great prospect’. Ampadu has joined Italian side Spezia on a season-long loan this season. The youngster joins the Italian side to play regular football and further his development.

Ampadu was excluded from Chelsea’s plan this season. Consequently, he had his fourth loan spell away from Stamford Bridge since joining Chelsea in 2017. Ampadu had his first loan spell in RB Leipzig in 2019. In 2020, he failed to break through into the first team and was sent on loan to Sheffield United. In 2021, Ampadu had a loan spell with the Italian side Venezia. Now, in 2022, he is in Spezia on a season-long loan to Italy. Despite not being in the first team, Chelsea still considers him as a big talent. Now, Spezia manager Gotti has promised to look after the player during his time in Italy.

“Chelsea think he (Ampadu) is a great prospect. I will try to employ him in the best way”,

said Gotti to Citta Della Spezia.

“Tomorrow he will be available, I am confident of using him and playing him on the defensive line. “It wasn’t so much with Tuchel that there was a talk about it, it was and is with Chelsea in general.

Following the postponement of the game against Fulham on the weekend, Chelsea fans will have to wait to see the tactics of their new manager in action. The Blues take on RB Salzburg in their second match of the Champions League. This will be the first game Graham Potter is in charge of his new team.
