Reports suggest that Chelsea are close to signing the former RB Leipzig‘s director Christopher Vivell as their new director. Vivell was a part of RB Leipzig when he first held talks with Chelsea earlier this year. He was later released from his position with the German team. This helped Chelsea to step up their negotiations. Reports claim that contract terms have been agreed upon between Chelsea and Vivell. However finalizing the deal is not done yet. Christopher Vivell had some loose ends to tie up in Germany. Chelsea have not pressurized Vivell or RB Leipzig for the deal as they are concerned it might affect their future relationship with the club.

Chelsea to be patient with RB Leipzig and Christopher Vivell

The Blues are trying to preserve their relationship with RB Leipzig before the January transfer window. Christopher Nkunku have already decided to join the Blues at the end of this season now Chelsea are trying to bring Josko Gvardiol to West London. Therefore extreme caution is being taken to ensure Leipzig does not complicate matters for them. Chelsea are putting finishing touches to the deal with Christopher Vivell. The 35- year old was expected to become the technical director at the club but that position was given to Laurence Stewart, hence a different position will be given to Vivell.

Todd Boehly planning to bring changes behind the scenes

The Blues have also recruited Paul Winstanley from Brighton. Furthermore they have plans to recruit Southampton’s Joe Shields with Boehly looking to rejuvenate the Blues’ transfer committee. A sporting director also remains on the list of agendas. The Blues are eying the former Liverpool chief Michael Edwards, but nothing has been decided as of yet. Chelsea need to bring some changes in their internal team if they wish to do better in the League.
