Chelsea and Bayern Munich reportedly have no intentions to discuss a swap deal involving Christian Pulisic and Leroy Sane.
Recent reports have suggested that Chelsea and Bayern may consider the possibility of negotiating a proposal where the players would move in opposite directions.
However, Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has reported that rumours of Chelsea and Bayern Munich engaging in talks over a swap deal involving Christian Pulisic and Leroy Sane are not true.
Chelsea to prefer Sane over Pulisic?
Both players have endured inconsistent spells at their new clubs. Pulisic’s time at Chelsea has been hampered by injuries, and so far this season he’s featured in just one of Thomas Tuchel’s side’s Premier League outings. Sane has also struggled to hold down a regular place in Bayern’s first team.
It has been a difficult time for Pulisic since Thomas Tuchel took over. The American star made some good contributions in vital games last season but has simply been unable to break into the side on a regular basis. He has struggled for game time this season as well.
Leroy Sane was among some of the best young talents in the Premier League with Manchester City. However, his move to Bayern Munich last season has not gone according to plan. He has not been able to produce the same kind of impact as he did in England. This led to the 25-year-old being linked to Chelsea earlier this month.
Various reports claimed Chelsea would be willing to include Pulisic in a swap deal to bring Sane back to England. However, it seems the American winger is set to remain at Stamford Bridge for now.
Pulisic has a contract with Chelsea until the end of 2023-24. Sane has till the end of the following campaign before his deal at Bayern Munich expires.
