Chelsea Send Scouts to Watch Striker Tammy Abraham

Antonio Nusa

Recent reports suggest that Chelsea sent scouts to watch Roma striker Tammy Abraham in a crucial game against AC Milan. The 25-year-old found the net in front of the chiefs from the Blues who were in attendance, according to reports.

Abraham has been linked with a move back to the Premier League ever since he made the switch to Serie A following his time at Chelsea. The England international has enjoyed a stellar first campaign in Italy last year. In which he led his side to the inaugural Europa Conference League trophy with his goals.

Abraham has not been as prolific this season. But he has been finding the net more regularly in recent weeks as Roma look to finish in the top four. Despite scoring in stoppage time against AC Milan, his team were pegged back late on. Nonetheless, the striker’s performance was impressive. And it is no surprise that Chelsea had scouts in attendance for the game.

Chelsea in search for a striker

The Blues have been linked with several players to fill their striker void. Even with the imminent arrival of Christopher Nkunku at the end of the season. However, scouting their former player, Tammy Abraham, shows that they are considering all options. The competition for a quality striker in the transfer market is fierce, and Chelsea’s scouting team must be thorough to ensure that they make the right choice.

Abraham’s return to Chelsea may seem like a step back. Given that he was sold for ultimately not being good enough only a few years ago. However, he has shown significant improvement during his time at Roma and could be the answer to Chelsea’s problems in front of goal. Only time will tell if the Blues will pursue a move for their former striker or opt for a different target altogether.
