According to Football Insider, Chelsea record signing Romelu Lukaku is not happy at the club and is ready to quit the club next summer.

Romelu Lukaku rejoined the European champions, Chelsea, in the summer for a club-record £97.5 million from the Italian side Inter Milan. The Belgium star signed a five year deal with the European champions. The Belgium striker helped the Italian outfit to lift the Serie A trophy last season. The Chelsea faithful were sure that Lukaku would help push the club to the next level. Big things were expected from the striker. But things haven’t gone quite as planned for the striker. While the controversial interview with Sky Italy did not help the striker’s cause either. Romelu Lukaku publically admitted that he was unhappy at the club and that Thomas Tuchel‘s playstyle did not suit him. He also talked about a potential return to his former side Inter Milan. He said:

“However I cannot say that I am happy with the situation, this is normal. I think that Tuchel has chosen to play with another module and I just have to not give up, continue to work and be a professional.”

Thomas Tuchel criticizes Romelu Lukaku for being overweight?

Football Insider have reported that behind the scenes Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel is unhappy and has criticised Lukaku for being overweight. The Belgium star had the same problem during his time with Premier League rivals Manchester United.

All reasons combined, the striker has lost his place in the starting lineup to Kai Havertz. Havertz has recorded eight goals in his last eight appearances in all competitions. With reports now suggesting that the Belgium striker is unhappy at the club and is ready to quit the club. Next summer may be the perfect time for both the parties to call it quits. The Chelsea faithful will be hoping to get a big chunk of the transfer fee they spend back next summer. While Lukaku will be hoping for a transfer back to his former side Inter Milan.
