Chelsea Stun Football World with Surprise Deal for Arsenal

Antonio Nusa

Arsenal has reportedly priced Tottenham out of a move for a highly skilled forward, who has now agreed to personal terms with Chelsea.

Despite an impressive season last year with 21 league goals. Folarin Balogun doesn’t seem to have a clear future at the Emirates Stadium. The 22-year-old had a stellar breakthrough season during his loan spell with Reims, but competition for the center-forward position at Arsenal. With players like Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah ahead of him. Along with the versatility of Kai Havertz, Leandro Trossard, and Gabriel Martinelli, makes it difficult for Balogun to secure regular playing time.

Various reports suggest that Arsenal might be willing to part ways with Balogun in the current transfer window if a bid in the region of £50 million is made.

According to the Evening Standard, bitter rivals Tottenham inquired about signing the USA international after selling Harry Kane to Bayern Munich. However, Arsenal quoted Spurs an even higher price. Possibly due to the intense rivalry between the two clubs.

Fulham is also looking to fill a void in their squad after losing Aleksandar Mitrovic to Al Hilal, and reports suggest they are in interest in Balogun. Nevertheless, it’s Chelsea. Another London-based club, that is taking concrete steps.

Chelsea and their transfers

Football Transfers, an online outlet, reports that Chelsea has reached an agreement on personal terms with Balogun. Chelsea is currently facing a shortage of attacking options. With only Armando Broja as a backup to new signing Nicolas Jackson, and Broja is still recovering from an ACL injury.

While Christopher Nkunku was signed to bolster the attack. He recently underwent knee surgery to address an issue he picked up during pre-season. With Romelu Lukaku out of the picture and both Kai Havertz and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang sold. Manager Mauricio Pochettino is actively seeking another striking option.

Balogun is reportedly his preferred choice, but while personal terms seem settled. The transfer fee could be a sticking point. Arsenal’s reported £50 million price tag is in mention again. But it’s that Chelsea has expressed no interest in conducting a deal at that price.

Therefore, reaching a compromise, either from Arsenal or Chelsea. Will likely be necessary for Balogun to secure a move across London. Another potential contender for his signature is Monaco. as they seek a replacement for the injured Breel Embolo. However, Chelsea appears to be Balogun’s preferred destination.
