Reece James, Chelsea full-back, has been officially ruled out of the upcoming Premier League match against Newcastle United on Sunday (kick-off at 4:30 pm). The 23-year-old suffered a hamstring injury during Chelsea’s Champions League quarter-final second-leg loss to Real Madrid last month.
Despite initial hopes of Reece James making a return for the final week of the season. It has now been confirmed that he will be unavailable for the match against Newcastle United. James was also absent in the recent game against Manchester United.
Interim boss Frank Lampard revealed that Reece James had attempted to train but experienced some awareness of his injury. Leading him to return indoors. On another note, there is a possibility that Mason Mount might miss out on the chance for a farewell appearance at Stamford Bridge due to a pelvic injury.
