According to Interlive.it, European champions Chelsea are interested in signing Inter Milan centre-half Milan Skriniar in the summer transfer window.

Milan Skriniar is a key target for various different clubs across Europe. The centre-half is out of contract in 2023 and has shown no intention to sign a new long-term deal with the club. Inter Milan are willing to listen to offers for the centre-half in the summer transfer window.

Skriniar was a key ingredient in Antonio Conte and Inter Milan’s Serie A triumph last term. This term yet again the centre-half is a key part of Simone Inzaghi’s team. Milan Skriniar has made a total of 38 appearances across all competitions this term. He has missed just four matches across all competitions this term. In this time he has recorded four goals. Simone Inzaghi will certainly be hoping that the centre-half signs a new deal with the club. The 27-year-old would no doubt be a big miss for the Italian giants. The Italian giants look very weak without the centre-half. Inter Milan are currently 3rd in the Serie A table. The side currently have one game in hand compared to league leaders AC Milan. The side can move just one point off the league leaders if they win their game in hand. The club are currently still with a strong shout to land their second successive league title at the end of the season.

Is Milan Skriniar a good centre-half option for Chelsea?

Chelsea are set to be keen to land defensive reinforcement in the summer transfer window. Reports suggest that centre-half Andreas Christensen has agreed on a pe-contract with Spanish giants Barcelona. While star centre-half Antonio Rudiger is also out of contract in the summer and looks set to leave the club on a free transfer in the summer.

Skriniar would certainly be a very good option for Chelsea. The centre-half is quite accustomed to playing in the back three. He would also suit Thomas Tuchel‘s playstyle of playing out of the back. The Slovak footballer is very similar with his forward runs from defence just like Antonio Rudiger. With the centre-back out of contract in just one year’s time. Chelsea could also negotiate a lower transfer fee for the centre-half.
