Chelsea have been unfortunate with injury problems this season. Chelsea’s injury problems are not slowing down this season and they have been struggling with it. Graham Potter is struggling with the pressure and it does not help his case that half of his players are injured. The Blues are currently sitting 10th in the Premier League table. They are also out of both domestic leagues this season. This underwhelming season for the Blues is rapidly intensifying. More than half of the Blues’ team is suffering from an injury. Graham Potter is now slowly running out of options to play the uninjured players. The injured players mostly consist of senior players who are in the regular starting line-ups.

Chelsea is missing most of their starting players due to injury

Chelsea have been really unlucky with injury problems this season. Edouard Mendy had a rocky start to the 2022-23 season. He then quickly lost his starting position to Kepa. Although he had performed in the World Cup but had to go into another surgery after the tournament. The club representative commented,

“Goalkeeper Edouard Mendy has undergone an operation on a fractured finger sustained in training this week. The 30-year-old will work closely with the club’s medical department during his rehabilitation phase.”

Reece James is another such player who have been unfortunate this season. The young player was a regular starter at Stamford Bridge before his injury back in October. Though he made a return to the team after the World Cup, he was later seen limping off the pitch. His comeback from his prior injury had lasted 53 minutes.

Another player who lost his starting position because of an injury is N’Golo Kante. He even missed the World Cup because of his injury. The player is now working on his recovery. The latest player to join the ongoing list of injury was Raheem Sterling. The player was seen limping off after Chelsea lost to Manchester City. The player looks to be out in the sidelines for quite some time now. Aubameyang was also one such player who was said to be injured. But reports now suggest that he would be available for their next match against Fulham. Although due to the lack of quality in performance and his rumored desire to leave the club, his return will be a bit of hollow comfort for Chelsea fans.
