Chelsea could be about to sign Ousmane Dembele from FC Barcelona whom pundits and media once dubbed ‘better than Kylian Mbappe, according to the reports.
The club management is ready to back Thomas Tuchel in this summer transfer window. Also, this could be a vital window for the West London club as there will be movement both ways.
On the other hand, Chelsea are also the frontrunner to sign Raheem Sterling from Manchester City. The England international’s future at the blue side of Manchester is quite uncertain it seems. Along with that, the future of Ousmane Dembele is also under the clouds of doubt. The Catalan giants are yet to make a decision on the France international’s future at the Camp Nou.
Once dubbed ‘better than Kylian Mbappe‘, there is a possibility of a reunion of Tuchel and Dembele. The duo were a part of Borussia Dortmund in their respective roles. From there, the BVB sold Dembele to Barcelona and Tuchel went to Paris Saint-Germain. However, now with a possible reunion on the cards, this move can be beneficial to all the parties involved. Barca can get their wage bill lowered, and Tuchel can bring the best out of Dembele again as he did in the past.
Chelsea wants to sign a new winger in order to boost their chances of winning a Premier League title under Thomas Tuchel. And Dembele is on the radar of the German manager as his current contract at Barcelona is about to expire.
However, the Barcelona management remains hopeful that the 2018 World Cup winner will extend his stay at their club. The player joined Barca in the summer of 2017 and has been present there ever since. Although recurring injuries halted his progress for the La Liga outfit, we all know what he is capable of on his day.
