Chelsea vs Brentford: Predicted XI and pre-match analysis

Fantasy premier league

Chelsea have been going through a tumultuous transitional phase in the recent years. However now, with Mauricio Pochettino at the rein, they have started to gain consistency. The toffees, are no prey either, as they have been a frequent nuisance in flared noses of the big six. Brentford vs Chelsea thus promises to be a thrilling and engaging watch to brighten up the viewers weekend.

Chelsea vs Brentford: Predicted lineups

In their previous match, Chelsea were held to a 2-2 draw at Stamford bridge as Arsenal came from behind to spoil the party. However, Chelsea looked dominant and played good football. Chelsea are currently dealing with an injury crisis as important players like Christopher Nkunku, Armando Broja, Ben Chilwell among others are out (according to BBC). Although, on the bright side Reece James and Nicolas Jackson would be ready to compete.

Chelsea analysis:

In defence, Robert Sanchez could start despite the few errors he committed in the match against Arsenal. Despite a few ball playing errors, he’s been relatively secure throughout the current campaign. The backline could consist of Reece James coming back to the side after several subsequent injuries. Moreover, after the weeklong rest, Thiago Silva would be ready to lead the backline, partnered by the young but equally robust Levi Colwill. Marc Cucurella would also be rightly retained on the left side, after a solid display on the previous matchday.

In the midfield, Moises Caicedo has been indispensable for the squad with his interceptions and playmaking. He provides much needed support to the backline, reducing the burden on fellow creative midfielders. Enzo Fernandez, would likely start in a double pivot alongside Caicedo. In essence, he looks close to his old antics, alongside a reliable and robust midfielder to clean up for him. The cherry on top of this metaphorical cake midfield would be the electric Conor Gallagher, currently enjoying the form of his life for the blues. Overall, a well setup mid block with complimenting profiles.

Cole Palmer would return to the right flank, in attack after an impressive display against arsenal. Mykhailo Mudryk would also patrol the left flank, with newfound confidence through his performances and the manager’s trust. Until, the return of Nkunku or Broja, Nicholas Jackson would have to fill in as Chelsea’s front-man.

Brentford analysis and match prediction:

Brentford are reeling with the loss of a major figure in their attack in Ivan Toney, after being caught in a betting scandal. Amidst his absence Bryan Mbuemo must step up to give his side a fighting chance.

Brentford will look to put pressure on Chelsea initially by pressing high and would gradually shift to a low-block when Chelsea dominate possession. Chelsea have a upper hand un quality in this fixture and are coming on the back of some good games. In scrappy games with hard fighting opponents like Brentford confidence is key, which Chelsea currently carry.

The game would certainly be an interesting watch but it is believed that Chelsea would be able to stamp their authority with a win at home.
