Chelsea want Ziyech at Stamford Bridge

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has made it clear that Hakim Ziyech will be staying at Stamford Bridge. He wants the Moroccan to play a vital role for the Blues this term.

AC Milan were heading the charge to sign Ziyech this summer and a move did look likely. Rumours were afloat stating that Chelsea were looking to loan him out for the season.

However, presently it seems nearly impossible that AC Milan sign the player. Thomas Tuchel asserting that he wants the 28-year-old at the club credits a complete turnaround.

Plagued by injury

Ziyech arrived at Stamford Bridge last summer for £33,000,000. Soon he suffered an injury in his first pre-season game. Nonetheless, the forward did eventually recover and Lampard employed his services on the pitch consistently.

This was only until Ziyech suffered yet another injury. It is no secret that the Morocco international has had a rocky start to Chelsea life. He made 39 appearances for the Blues during the 2020-21 campaign but found it difficult to show his best form during his first season.

When almost fit, Tuchel joined the club and he rarely saw game-time. However, that changed this summer as the German deployed Ziyech in every pre-season game, also featuring in the UEFA Super Cup, where he picked up a shoulder injury.

Despite being injured, Chelsea will be keeping Ziyech in their plans. Winger-wise, the Blues should no problems with Mount, Pulisic, Havertz, Hudson-Odoi. Striker Timo Werner has also made appearances as a winger previously.

The 28-year-old is on the road to recovery. He might not be available for the upcoming clash against Arsenal. However, Tuchel is optimistic he will be ready when Liverpool come knocking next.

The Moroccan netted 49 times and assisted 81 in 165 appearances for Ajax before moving at Stamford Bridge. His current deal with the London giants still has four years left to run.
