Chelsea were in talks with Nagelsmann admits Fabrizio Romano

Chelsea were in talks with with Julian Nagelsmann since Graham Potter was fired admits Transfer Expert Fabrizio Romano.

Blues are shortlisting candidates as they will soon be looking to make a decision on who they will appoint as the new permanent manager. As of now, Frank Lampard has been appointed as the new interim manager at Stanford Bridge.

There are lots of names which which are being rumoured all along, but there is one who has been speaking to Chelsea since Potter got fired. It is being speculated that Julian Nagelsmann were in touch with Blues officials for the vacant position at Stanford Bridge.

Nagelsmann is one of the favorites to become the next Chelsea manager. He was sacked by Bayern Munich and was replaced by former Blues manager Thomas Tuchel.

Fabrizio Romano discusses in his CaughtOffSide podcast and also says that no decision has been made yet. He said:-

“Julian Nagelsmann has been speaking to Chelsea since Graham Potter was fired, so talks are constant and he remains the favourite; but it’s also important to say that nothing has been decided on club side yet, so there’s room for change.

“Everything remains open so for Nagelsmann. I think he’s an excellent option for what Chelsea need right now – an elite coach, young but with modern ideas, someone for long term for sure.”

Chelsea are going through a horrid season this term. Club’s new hierarchy has changed manager twice this season to change the fortunes, but it didn’t work.
