Chelsea will chase AC Milan Winger Rafael Leao in the summer transfer window. The Portuguese international is one of the stars of Serie-A.
The Blues are one of a number of sides across Europe interested in signing Leao this summer. Chelsea have been long linked with the 23-year-old winger and they reportedly offered €70 m(€62m) during the World Cup in Qatar last year.
However, Chelsea retains their interest in Leao heading into the summer. Reports suggest that they could be forced to shell out his €150m release clause.
Leao has been in impressive form this season. He has scored eight goals and provided six assists in just 25 Serie-A appearances. The Portuguese international also caught the eye with his performance in the Champions League, as his one goal and two assists have helped Pioli’s side reach the Quarter Finals. Milan will face Italian League leaders Napoli next month.
Meanwhile, Former England manager Fabio Capello lauded Leao last month and compared him with PSG superstar Kylian Mbappe. He said:-
“Another important thing: he worries the opponents. He is one of the few players in Europe today who goes off easily in one-on-one situations. In terms of speed and quickness, he is like Mbappé.”
However, if Leao arrives at Stanford Bridge, it would surely limit chances for Mykhailo Mudryk. The Ukrainian International has struggled since joining the club in January.
Leao has consistently performed in Italy’s top flight in recent seasons and could be a big signing for Chelsea.
