Chelsea manager Graham Potter will like to offload Malang Sarr in the summer transfer window.

Sarr is unlikely to feature for Chelsea considering his his lack of apperances over past three seasons. Potter will like to get rid of the Frenchman this summer.

The Blues signed Sarr on a free transfer in 2020 after his contract expires at Nice. He made 199 apperances for the French outfit and was hailed as one of the most exciting young defender in Europe. However, he didn’t live upto his reputation.

Subsequently he was sent out to Porto on a loan deal but he struggled to make an impact at Portugal. Sarr was forced to make eight apperances for the Dragoes’ B team.

Despite his lack of apperances that season, he returned to Chelsea and become part of the first-tean under Thomas Tuchel. In 2020/21 season, Sarr made 21 appearances of which eight came in Premier League.

One of those came in the 4:2 defeat against Arsenal, for which the French defender came in under lot of criticism from talkSPORT pundit Dean Saunders. He said :-

“I’m going to be harsh but [Malang] Sarr was a shambles. Not good enough. For Sarr to come into the team when he’s not playing every week, he’s made so many mistakes.”

After the horrific season, he was again send back to France in the summer, as he joined AS Monaco.

However, Chelsea now wants to get rid of him as New co-owners are looking to trim the squad for new signings.
