Chris Sutton advises Arsenal to go for this striker rather than Ivan Toney

Chris Sutton has suggested Arsenal to go for another striker, instead of Brentford’s star man Ivan Toney. Sutton said that Dominik Solanke can be an option other than Toney. Arsenal have been recently linked with both the strikers for the upcoming January transfer window.

Even the manager also hints that a new front man can join the squad. The Gunners look to present the challenge for the title race. Considering there recent forward options, they should add a better goal threat.

Thomas Frank does not want to sell his talisman striker though. Therefore, Dominik can be an option for the North London club. Morover, Arsenal will also not wish to splash such a big amount for the Englishman. Pundit Sutton now also suggests that Arsenal should go for the Bournemouth striker rather than Ivan.

He said,

There’s been plenty of talk already about how manager Mikel Arteta needs to sign another striker in January. Brentford’s Ivan Toney has been linked for a while, but he has not played for months because of his suspension. He will have been training, but how much match sharpness does he have?

Arsenal are trying to win the title, so they haven’t got time to wait for anyone to get up to speed. If we are looking at the names that are supposedly within their grasp, Bournemouth’s Dominic Solanke stands out as the best candidate.”

Arsenal should not rush to sign the former Liverpool striker. Although he is looking in a very good form, this is only his first brilliant season. The club wants £50 million for the forward which is considerably very huge. He has only squad 22 goals in 114 appearances in the Premier League. Moreover, they should focus on a long term investment and not just the momentary star performer. If the striker continuous to perform like this for a few more seasons, you can surely be on the radar of many top European clubs.
