Former Chelsea man Chris Sutton says Manchester United star Marcus Rashford must leave the club. Sutton said this after United were knocked out of Champions League by Bayern Munich last night. The Englishman was not looking enthusiastic enough to play the game. Moreover, now Sutton also believes that the 26-year old is not ready to run on the pitch for the club and should leave. Speaking on the It’s All Kickoff Off podcast, Sutton said,
“He looks tormented at this moment in time. I think for him and his career, at this moment in time he looks bored and stale. I think he is a player who needs a move away from Old Trafford and a fresh challenge.
This was a debate doing the rounds a couple of seasons ago, but he just seems to be meandering along.
There are questions about his work ethic within the team and I think that’s a totally legitimate question and criticism. He doesn’t look like he is working hard enough. I think he is a player who needs a fresh challenge.”
Though, it will not be an easy job for Rashford to leave the Old Trafford. The star winger has been with the club since 2005. He has been an academy graduate of the Red Devils and a first-team player since long. He has made 254 appearances for the club scoring 78 goals and 38 assists so far. Despite this long term, he is unable to maintain a consistent performance. The winger is just 26 and is yet to hit his peak form. If he wants to be the best in the club, he must start to work hard on his performances and attain consistent form.
Manchester United have been ruled out of the Champions League following their defeat at home. Their current form in the league is also very much disappointing. Erik Ten Hag’s side currently stand sixth in the table. Moreover, a lot of key players are facing an injury as well. Their latest league match ended in a 0-3 defeat to the hands of Bournemouth.
