Christian Eriksen has been compared to Swedish superstar Pontus Jansson recently. The Swede played with Zlatan on the international level and affirms that both of them exude the same class.
The Dane made a heroic return to the sport after a cardiac arrest at the Euro 2020 championships. Eriksen had to terminate his contract with Inter Milan owing to health regulations in the Serie A.
Newly promoted Brentford were the ones who took the gamble on Eriksen and offered him a 6-month deal. He turned out to be a revelation for them, helping them to a strong finish. He was well admired by his teammates, and captain Pontus Jansson was eloquent in his praise for the Danish international.
I have played with players like him before, like Zlatan in the international team. They have something. You see that when they have the ball at their feet. Christian (Eriksen) is such a nice guy and character. He’s a superstar, if you can say that, but he is one of us.
We are so happy to have him here. He is top class and to have him on the pitch gives us something. He will grow from here. It was probably not his best performance in his life but it was just enough for us to have him on the pitch, that makes all of us grow, not only him but everyone.
Parallels Between Eriksen And Zlatan
Interestingly, both Eriksen (soon) and Zlatan joined Manchester United as free agents. Zlatan had a short but sweet tenure at the club, helping Jose Mourinho’s squad win three trophies. He, unfortunately, had to leave early because of a knee injury.
Christian Eriksen will hope that he can follow in his footstep, and give the Red Devils something to cheer about. They had a wretched season last time out, and will expect improvements.
