Conte return to Chelsea looks possible

Former Chelsea manager Antonio Conte can return to the Stamford Bridge this summer. It all started this week, when a report claimed that the manager used an intermediary with good connections with the Blues to make known he’s available to return to Stamford Bridge. After winning the league title and FA cup with the Blues he is well respected in London.

However this move is only possible if Blues decided to sack Mauricio Pochettino this summer. After a struggling season ending seventh on the league table, they surely need improvements. Chelsea also missed out on Carabao Cup and FA cup losing in finals. Moreover with no European football next season it can be best time to focus on rebuild.

Reports on Conte return and availability

Marco Piccari while talking about the coach’s future, there were some comments about his potential return to Chelsea. “I don’t know, on Conte I would leave various scenarios open because we can’t give anything for certain. If he wants to coach in Italy with the old system, it’s better for him to go to the Premier League. If he wants to go that route he can go to Chelsea. Also if he wants to coach in Italy he must take a different path.”

Conte is also being approached by many Italian clubs with Napoli leading the race. Sacking Mauricio Pochettino will also be a very tough task for the Blues. Now the club is finally finding pace and giving some good performances. Now it seems the general feeling is that Chelsea would have the manager’s preference, even though he’s still to publicly talk about that possibility.

The Blues are still to take a decision on the future of Mauricio Pochettino, and it remains to be seen whether Conte would actually be considered to replace the Argentine this summer.
