Could Dejan Kulusevski be the winger that Arsenal needs?

As per recent reports, Arsenal could go head to head with Tottenham Hotspur to sign winger Dejan Kulusevski. It is believed that Juventus could possibly let go of the player next year to make room for new signings.

Kulusevski joined Juventus in 2020 from Atalanta. During his time at Atalanta, the club loaned him out for one season to Parma. The player has scored 8 goals and 8 assists in 64 appearances for the Old Lady.

Meanwhile, clubs like Spurs and Arsenal, who are having issues with their right-wing, have made the Sweden international a transfer target for next year. The Gunners are keen on signing the player and could rival their North London Rivals for the player’s signature.

Arsenal might have to fight with some of the top clubs for signing Kulusevski

The 21-year-old winger has attracted a lot of attention from Premier League clubs, even though he hasn’t made many appearances at his former clubs. The Swedish player is also being linked with giants Manchester City and Bayern Munich.

With the introduction of manager Massimiliano Allegri, Kulusevski’s appearances have significantly dropped with the player mostly coming off the bench mid-game. In 15 appearances this season, Kulusevski has scored 1 goal and provided 1 assist. Hence, it is pretty much clear that Dejan would look for a move out of the Allianz Stadium in January or next summer.

As a result, Spurs were said to be lining up a move for the player with a fee of around £30m, allowing them to build up their attacking side. Juventus are also ready to accept offers for the Swedish, allowing them to open up spaces for new signings.

How Dejan Kulusevski’s introduction could benefit the Arsenal team

The Gunners had a rough start to this season, ending up in the relegation zone within just a few games. However, Mikel Arteta seems to have found the right methods now. The team is now unbeaten in eight games and sits 5th in the PL table.

Meanwhile, the Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta recently received praises for the signing of Aaron Ramsdale and Ben White. As Ramsdale, who was supposed to be a back-up for Bernd Leno is now the team’s starting goalkeeper. He has deservedly sealed his spot in the team’s starting-11. On the other hand, White has now found himself settled quite well in the Gunners squad. The player had a shaky debut with Arsenal but he is now proving to be a solid man in the backline.

Hence, Arteta’s interest in the Swedish could fill in the winger void for Arsenal. The tall and physically strong player has the potential to play in many positions. He has the capability to play in several attacking positions and also as a box-to-box midfielder. Thus, Kulusevski could be a worthy signing and could strengthen Arsenal’s attacking arsenal.
