Cristiano Ronaldo has expressed his desire to make history with Manchester United once again. The Portuguese megastar believes “everything is possible” after firing the Red Devils to an important Champions League victory against Villarreal.

Ronaldo scored the winning goal, which sunk the Spanish outfit to a late defeat. With the match level at 1-1 after 90 minutes, Ronaldo struck in the last minute of injury time to help his team win 2-1.

Having kicked off Group F with a shock loss at Young Boys, the Red Devils were well aware of the need to kickstart their continental campaign against Unai Emery’s men.

Cristiano Ronaldo wants more with Manchester United

Villarreal broke United hearts in the Europa League final four months ago. Yet again, they looked set to inflict another humbling loss after Paco Alcacer beat De Gea 53 minutes in.

United responded with a stunning goal from the returning Alex Telles 7 minutes later. Late into injury time, it was Ronaldo who provided the winning touch. This marks the Portuguese’s fifth goal since his return from Juventus.

After the win, Ronaldo said, “I’m so happy. The game tonight was not my best. I didn’t play so good“.

Very important. We knew if we didn’t get points today it would be tough to go through to the next stage but now everything is possible, everything is open and we believe we go through.”

The forward was also asked about his relationship with the fans at Old Trafford. He replied, “This is why I came back because I missed this club a lot. I made history at this club and I want to do it again”.

Ronaldo expressed his thanks to the supporters for constantly keeping him up and always pushing the team. The fans have been crucial for the team this season.

The 36-year-old has won the coveted title five times, including the 2008 edition with United. He now looks forward to going even further at Old Trafford.

After their win on Thursday, the Red Devils will now face Serie A club Atlanta on October 21 at Old Trafford.
