Indian batting stalwart, Virat Kohli is back in his old form after a long while. His much-awaited century drought ended against Afghanistan in the Asia Cup 2022. The form followed Virat Kohli in the Australian series as well. Kohli scored a match-winning knock of 63 off 48 deliveries with 3 fours and 4 maximums in the third T20 in Hyderabad.

After losing both openers in the powerplay, the onus was on Kohli to anchor the Indian innings. He very well lived up to the expectations and almost got the team home. He perished trying to hit a boundary over Aaron Finch’s head. Finch jumped right on time, and the ball stuck in his hands. Fans and critics were in awe of Virat’s magnificent innings and poured in congratulating messages on social media. The latest and most interesting one is from speedster Dale Steyn.

Dale Steyn shares a tweet post-Virat’s heroic innings

Former South African speedster, Dale Steyn, took to Twitter to share a message on Virat Kohli’s terrific innings. He wrote a cryptic note to Kohli saying that he is regaining his form right before the T20 World Cup.

“Someone’s hitting some form just before the WC…”

Here’s the tweet:

Virat Kohli ends his century drought

India’s very own run machine, Virat Kohli’s form went on a downward spiral post the Covid Pandemic. The man who has 70 international centuries under his name failed to score even a single hundred in 2.5 years. The pressure seemed to take a toll on him as he relieved his captaincy duties from all formats within a few months.

But the one thing Kohli never learned was the idea of giving up. Virat took multiple breaks and spent some time off the field. He went back to square one and worked hard. Finally, his perseverance showed results as he scored his 71st century against Afghanistan in the Asia Cup 2022. Virat opened in Rohit’s absence and scored a magnificent 122 off 61 balls.

The resurgence of lost form has come just at the right time for Kohli. The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 is set to begin on 15th October in Australia. India will open their campaign with a high-pressure game against its arch-rival, Pakistan. Virat Kohli’s form is crucial for the team to advance in the tournament.
