Danny Murphy tells Tottenham Hotspurs player Eric Dier to leave the club in the upcoming January transfer window. Tottenham are looking to have a settled squad after a long time. Moreover, Ange Postecoglou has completely transformed the club. Though, he does not have a place for Dier in the squad. Consequently, Murphy thinks its the right time for the defender to leave the club. Eric has made 360 appearances for the club in all competitions since he joined in 2014. He has even been one of the first in the squad at times.

However, since Ange’s arrival, Dier is unable to make a single minute for the COYS. It is clear that Ange does not rate Dier in his lineup at all. Danny Murphy said on talkSPORT,

“He has got himself in a situation. Obviously, with a change in manger, sometimes you find yourself out of favour, and you’ve got to cut your ties. You’ve got to go!”

“He is a talented lad. He can play at centre-half and in central midfield, and he will do someone a job because he’s a good player. He’s just not the most mobile.”

He has got versatility, he’s experienced. You can probably get him quite cheap as well (in January). There are a lot of clubs who will want him.

Eric Dier’s contract will expire at the end of this season. Moreover, it was reported that many clubs were interested for him. Though, he decided to fight for his place under Postecoglou. However, it does not look worth now as he needs to playing regularly at this point of his career. Jose Mourinho and Roma are reportedly interested in signing the Englishman. It will be great move to be fair for both the parties.
