Journalist David Ornstein comments on the rumours between Liverpool and Kylian Mbappe. Ornstein has been reporting on Mbappe transfer links since long. The French superstar is on the transfer radar of top European clubs. The PSG forward is only left with 6 months on his contract. Consequently, the transfer links between the player and clubs is now taking heat. Now, Liverpool are again among the list of clubs looking for his signature. However, Real Madrid are a long term admirers of him and the most likely destination as well. Now, journalist Ornstein has weighed in while speaking to Rio Ferdinand’s FIVE podcast.
“What Kylian Mbappe earns possibly can only really be paid at PSG, possibly Real Madrid. We see Liverpool linked with him, I don’t know the credibility of those suggestions.
If this guy’s available everybody’s going to have interest in him but again it doesn’t translate into a signing. PSG are really relaxed about the situation from what I know. If he wants to continue with them and he wants to re-sign then they’ll do it gladly.”
However, there is nothing Liverpool have to do with the Frenchman. Moreover, the sum PSG will be asking for him is too much considering the business Reds do. They do not splash such huge amount on players at all. Although, Jurgen Klopp is a huge admirer of Mbappe but it doesn’t make any possible transfer. The 25-year old is also a huge fan of Anfield. Ornstein has not categorically ruled out Liverpool from the transfer race. If something is to land from the club’s side, they still will be having tough competition from top clubs around the continent.
