Arsenal have made Declan Rice their top target for summer transfer window. Reports claim that Arsenal considers Declan Rice their main target for the summer. The player have been heavily linked with the Gunners. However it could take a British record transfer fee for the player to move to Emirates. The Gunners have been interested in the midfielder for quite some time now. Other clubs namely, Chelsea are also interested in signing Rice. However CBS reporter Ben Jacobs claimed that Arsenal are currently slightly ahead of Chelsea in the race to sign the player. But the Gunners could end up having to pay £120m for the player. Reposts suggest that West Ham United could end up asking that much for their captain. The Gunners signed Jorginho this January to strengthen their midfield. However they do not look to be done with just that.

Declan Rice looks to be a serious target for Arsenal in the summer

Kaya Kaynak have said that the Gunners are very serious about signing Declan Rice. The chief Arsenal writer wrote, “The interest in Declan Rice is very serious. Arsenal want to go out and sign him. He is their top target for the summer in midfield. He further wrote, “Obviously, he will have one year left on his deal, which would hypothetically make him cheaper, but West Ham have already come out and said via David Moyes that they’re expecting him to be a British record transfer fee. So we’ll have to see what happens there in terms of the negotiation of the fee.” Furthermore if Arteta is looking for a defensive midfielder like Thomas Partey, then the player would be a good signing for Arsenal. And Rice is probably one of the best ball-winner in the Premier League right now.

Under Arteta, Arsenal are doing really well right now. Therefore a player like Declan Rice will only be a benefit to the team. He is expected to do well under a manager like Arteta. However the valuation of the player could be seen as a hurdle in signing him.
