New Arsenal recruit Declan Rice showed glimpses of what he is capable off against Manchester City in Community Shield Final at Wembley Stadium.

The Three Lions star featured for 81 minutes in the match before he was substituted off. Eddie Nketiah came in and helped Leandro Trossard to score a equaliser at the very dead-end of the match.

Arsenal lifted their 17th Community Shield on Sunday , the second-most of any club after Manchester United (21). Manager Mikel Arteta will be high on confidence before the new Premier League season gets unfold this week.

However, the Spaniard will also be overjoyed with Rice’s performance against the Current League Winner. The 24-year-old will play an important part in Arteta’s midfield masterclass this season.

Daily Mail Telegraph journalist Sam Dean posted on Twitter/X, as he praised Declan Rice and his ball tracking attribute. In the 66th minute of the match, Rice tracked back counterpart Bernardo Silva and recovered the ball swiftly.

In his post, Dean wrote :-

“That recovery run from Rice shocked even Arteta, I think. The Arsenal manager had thrown his arms up in frustration when Bernardo received the ball in midfield, before Rice surged out of nowhere to nick it back. That’s the mobility and power that Arsenal have paid for.”

Rice made all the difference on Sunday and this is reason why City wanted wanted him badly in this transfer window.
