Liverpool have reportedly joined the race in signing West Ham’s midfielder Declan Rice with other Premier League clubs like Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea.

The 22-year-old was linked with a move away from the London Stadium throughout the transfer window. But he has stayed at West Ham and has helped them take seven points from their first three league games.

However, the rumours are unlikely to go away and another good season may make it impossible for the Hammers to keep Rice.

90min states that Rice expects this campaign to be his last in claret and blue, amid interest from both Manchester sides, Liverpool and his former club Chelsea.

Despite this, the report claims that the midfielder is fully concentrating on the year ahead at West Ham. Declan Rice is excited about the new challenge of playing in the Europa League.

Will Declan Rice be able to join either one of the four clubs or not?

Rice earned his 25th cap for England in the 4-0 win over Hungary on Thursday night. He marked his presence with his second goal for the England international team in this match.

West Ham have been considering offering Rice a new contract, even though his current deal runs to 2024. His wages do not represent his position and stature within the club.

Rice would be open to signing a new deal on the proviso that it included a release clause. It would allow him to leave the club if a fixed figure was met by a potential buyer. However, 90min has learned that West Ham have a rule of not including release clauses in contracts – meaning a new deal is now unlikely.

22-year-old Rice is one of the best young holding midfielders in world football. The player’s camp are aware of interest from around Europe.

The Premier League’s big four, Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool. All have made it known that they are very much interested in securing his signature next summer.
