The Irons are looking to bolster their squad in this summer transfer window. According to reports, they are in talks with 3 to 4 players. David Moyes has described this season as a crucial season. They are also looking to lessen the dependence on Declan Rice in the midfield. West Ham are looking for a marquee midfielder to support Declan Rice and Thomas Soucek.

Hence, the club have made Amadou Onana their top target. West Ham United have made him the top target after signing striker Gianluca Scamacca from U.S. Sassuolo Calcio. TRANSFER EXPERT GIVES AN UPDATE ABOUT THE PROGRESS ON THE TRANSFER

Transfer expert Dharmesh Sheth also has provided an update. According to him, West Ham are still in the mix for the midfielder. He also adds Moyes aims to upgrade a priority position in the midfield. David Moyes wants to challenge for the top 4 spots in the Premier League. He is looking to challenge for the Champions League spots in the upcoming season.

Dharmesh Sheth added, “I just wonder whether Lille are trying to fish out other clubs who might be interested in Onana as well, but West Ham are definitely interested. It’s another priority position for them. The strike force and central midfield are two of the areas that they really wanted to strengthen.” The midfielder if signed can be the most exciting young player in the squad besides Declan Rice.

If West Ham United agree a fee for him, the 20-year-old would gift David Moyes a different option in the midfield. They would also get a player that can be a potential star in the future. In short, he would prove to be a shrewd perspective capture for the club.
