Since the beginning of the West Indian tour, India has been in the ruling seat. After whitewashing the West Indies in the ODI, it’s time to do the same in T-20 too. This tour has been quite positive for the Indians, as it witnessed multiple players rescuing Indians from the dark. Likewise, the first T-20 saw Dinesh Kartik doing heroism with the bat. Dinesh Kartik has been quite impressive in finishing matches for the last few months. While speaking about his confidence, he gave an idea about the calm ambiance of the dressing room that helped him a lot to stay relaxed. After the match, while speaking about the atmosphere, he was all praise for skipper Rohit Sharma and coach Rahul Dravid.

Dinesh Kartik has been a common name in the cricketing household, in the recent past. This man debuted 18 long years ago. The road to his glorious comeback has never been easy. A lot of things have changed overnight and that’s what Kartik pointed out. He believes the present set up under the umbrella of Captain Sharma and Coach Dravid is the calmest he had ever been. While speaking to his mate Ravichandran Ashwin, he praised the duo for handling failures in the “most rational way“.

In the interview for BCCI TV, DK said,

“I think it’s a very, very different team. I must admit I’m really enjoying the set-up. The kind of calmness that seems to be around this set-up in terms of the coach and captain, I think a lot of credit must go to both of them (Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid) because they have set up an atmosphere where they are dealing with failure in the most rational way possible, which I think is a lot of credit to them.”

Treated the same way despite failures: Dinesh Kartik

The Indian team management is in search of the perfect playing eleven for the upcoming T-20 World Cup in Australia. The tournament is literally breathing over the shoulders, and India’s bench strength is a real issue for the selectors.

Kartik indeed made an impressive comeback after his finisher role in RCB. He wholeheartedly credited the team for backing him in his downs.

“At times when I didn’t do well, I still felt I was treated the same way. The dressing room atmosphere was pretty calm and it was good. These are the small tick boxes that we need to have at this stage of the game.”
