Michael Zorc, Dortmund director, has done away with rumours linking Erling Halaand with a move to PSG. The Westfalenstadion chief has restated that the club will not be selling the Norwegian striker this summer.

A number of top flight clubs across Europe have shown an interest in Haaland over the last few months, including Real Madrid, Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City.

PSG are the latest club to throw their hat into the ring despite Dortmund have publicly insisting that the 21-year-old is not for sale. Zorc is expecting that the speculation will increase before the summer window closes on August 31.

Halaand could be a star turn for PSG

The summer 2021 window has been one of the biggest, seeing Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo unexpectedly change clubs. Speculation continues to rage over the two players tipped to be next line to become the world football’s biggest stars – Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland.

PSG are allegedly on the look out for a new forward. The young Frenchman has so far declined the chance to extend his contract at the Parc des Princes beyond its 2022 expiry date.

Club officials have confirmed that Mbappe does want to leave. Real Madrid are waiting for a final response to their second bid of £146,000,000. Haaland is at the top of PSG’s wishlist for a replacement. However, he is still tied to an agreement at Dortmund that rums till 2024 at the moment.

Rumours state that a £172,000,000 sum for Haaland has been put offered. Nonetheless, Dortmund’s sporting director insists nothing has changed. Zorc, speaking to Kicker : “We are a football club, not a bank! Our position is very clear and did not change. I assume that we will now be confronted with wild rumours for another two days. Our position is clear, I don’t need to play the parrot all the time.”

Haaland has drawn major interest from Europe’s biggest clubs, including Real Madrid themselves. The race for his signature will only intensify when a cut-price release clause in his current deal activates after the window closes on August 31.

The Norwegian has been absolutely brilliant for Dortmund. He has bagged a boast-worthy 63 goals in just 64 appearances since joining the club in January 2019.
