With the Asia Cup just four days away, India is in for some bad news.

Head Coach Rahul Dravid contracted COVID-19 just before he was about to board the plane for Dubai today.

He is now under BCCI’s Medical team and now won’t be immediately travelling with the team. When Dravid returns a negative report, then only will he be able to join the team.

India’s first match is against Pakistan on the 28th of August and all of the team members will be leaving for Dubai from their respective cities.

While some have reached there, the other players will be arriving from Harare where India have just completed a 3-0 sweep over the hosts.

The BCCI are now making all the travel arrangements for stand-in head coach VVS Laxman who had gone for the Zimbabwe tour.

But, the board did not release any information about it in their press release. Laxman always goes with the Indian team whenever and wherever Rahul Dravid is not available.

A final call from the BCCI will be taken after checking the final condition of Dravid’s illness.

The decision on a head coach change will arrive in a couple of days.

August 28 promises to be an electrifying day for fans of India and Pakistan.
