Arsenal and Chelsea star Eddie Nketiah and Callum Hudson-Odoi will switch their international allegiance to Ghana. Both Nketiah and Hudson Odoi have represented England at the youth level. The pair decided to commit their international duty with Ghana from now on.

Furthermore, football.london reported that Eddie Nketiah received his Ghanaian passport and will declare so in days to come. His future international teammate from his current rival club Chelsea, Hudson-Odoi will walk the same path.

Arsenal starlet, Eddie Nketiah is England-21s top goal scorer of all time. He scored a total of 16 goals in that youth setup for the Three Lions but is yet to earn a senior cap. For this reason, he’s still eligible to play for Ghana. The Black Stars approached him and his family previously on several occasions. Finally, they managed to persuade him to commit to them.

On the other hand, Calum Hudson-Odoi already played a friendly against the Czech Republic. He was a teenager back then, only 18 years of age. But he has never played a competitive game for the senior team under current manager Gareth Southgate. The people of Ghana will be delighted now that the duo opted to play for their nation.

Current form of Nketiah and Hudson Odoi

At the club level, both had their personal woes for their respective London clubs. Start of the season, Nketiah was way down the pecking order to start for the Emirates Stadium outfit. Now that, Aubameyang shipped to FC Barcelona in January and Alexandre Lacazette looked like he hanged his shooting boots, he got his chance to showcase his talents in Premier League.

Gladly for him and Arsenal fans, he found his form at the right time, scoring 4 goals in 4 of his previous starts. With his current contract set to expire in less than two months, he rejected multiple offers and will assess his options for more regular football.

On the other hand, Hudson-Odoi is now sidelined for weeks and there are doubts if he might play any part this season. Although there is slight hope he might feature in the FA Cup final against Liverpool this upcoming Saturday.
