Eddie Nketiah have reportedly suffered a nasty injury

Arsenal manager shares that Eddie Nketiah have suffered a nasty injury. The manager shared an update on the player ahead of Arsenal’s clash against Sporting. Arsenal were to face Sporting Lisbon for their second-leg in the Europa League. Furthermore the Gunners managed a 2-2 draw with Sporting in the first-leg. The Gunners did not perform that well in the match. However there is still a good chance that they might win their second-leg. Eddie Nketiah missed the Gunners first match against Sporting. Arsenal manager shared that the youngster was set to miss the next match as well. The Gunners were reliant on Eddie Nketiah after Gabriel Jesus’ injury at the World Cup. Gabriel Jesus underwent a surgery for his injury back in December. Therefore it was the young player who filled in for Jesus’ position on the pitch.

All eyes were on Eddie Nketiah after Gabriel Jesus got injured. And the youngster really did step up for the team. Furthermore he held his fort and scored some important goals for the Gunners. However his formed dropped in February and fans wondered what was going wrong. Arteta have now revealed that the player was playing with an injury. Therefore it looks like he is set to miss out next few games. In the press conference ahead of the Sporting Lisbon match, Arteta was asked about Eddie Nketiah. There the manager described the injury as a ‘nasty’ one. Furthermore the manager shared, “We have to be patient. It was a nasty injury and he has a big challenge ahead of him, it could have been worse.” Therefore this confirms that the player will be ruled of play for next few weeks.

It is really unfortunate that Eddie Nketiah suffered such an injury at a crucial stage of the season. But as of now Arsenal really doesn’t have anything serious to worry about. As Gabriel Jesus have now returned from his long-term injury and Leandro Trossard too is fit again to step up for the team.
