Emile Smith Rowe could leave Arsenal sooner than it was expected. According to news reports, Leicester City’s James Maddison is Arsenal’s new target. There is a possibility that the deal could end up going ahead. Therefore it could mean that Emile Smith Rowe could leave Arsenal. Smith Rowe have been a rising player for the Gunners for the past few years now. Many fans have been hoping to see the player develop into a key player for the Gunners. However multiple injuries have hampered the procedure for the young player. He have struggled to make an impact on the team for the last 18 months now. Gabriel Martinelli Martinelli and Leandro Trossard are now ahead of Smith Rowe for the left side of the pitch. Odegaard have taken over the central attacking midfield role. However, the addition of James Maddison could be the final to the coffin for the player.

Emile Smith Rowe could leave Arsenal if Maddison joins the club

Emile Smith Rowe could be relegated to a third choice down the left. He will also become a third choice for the middle of the park position. That is if we are not considering Fabio Vieira’s position in the club. Maddison is an established Premier League player, who have proved his qualities as a player. Therefore his arrival to the Arsenal side would help the club a lot. His vision and creative flair on the pitch and goal-scoring abilities would be a huge plus for the Gunners. But unfortunately for Emile Smith Rowe, this could push him further down the pecking order. Therefore a sale option for the player could be available on the table. However, Arsenal could always keep both players and use them in rotation.

However, it would be difficult for Arteta to choose from all those available players. But Maddison is just linked with Arsenal now. Therefore nothing is set in stone as of yet. If the deal does go through then it would mean Emile Smith Rowe would have to face more competition.
