Chelsea are in direct talks with World Cup winner Enzo Fernandez for a January transfer deal. Chelsea are even prepared to offer a huge fee to Enzo Fernandez. The player have recently helped Argentina to win their third World Cup alongside Lionel Messi. Fernandez featured in every game for the national team. After his performance at the Qatar World Cup, his value have increased in the transfer market. Furthermore, the player now appears to be in demand as he also received the Golden Boy trophy at the tournament. It now looks like Chelsea are planning to seal the deal as soon as possible.
Fabrizio Romano updates about the Enzo Fernandez deal
Chelsea are looking to sign Enzo Fernandez ahead of their competitors. Fernandez joined Benfica in the summer, and his contract with the club remains till 2027. Though it is understood that the player could leave if his release clause of โฌ120million is paid. Romano have now reported that Chelsea is ready to pay the full amount for the player. The Italian journalist said,
โChelsea are on it. Chelsea are really pushing for Enzo, heโs a concrete target. We know they are having concrete discussions with Benfica. They didnโt have any talks on Saturday but, in the next hours and in the next days, there are going to be key moments. The deal is advanced. Itโs really advanced because Chelsea and Benfica are speaking, thanks also to the agents of the player, about the structure of the deal. Chelsea donโt want to payย โฌ120million in one solution, so itโs close but they are trying to find a different solution with Benfica on different payment terms.”
He further added,
โBenfica are expected to give a final answer very soon but Chelsea are pushing. Also the player, Enzo Fernandez, played against Braga because he respects Benfica, the club and the president but he wants Chelsea. He is really pushing to go to Chelsea, so there is an agreement between Enzo Fernandez and Chelsea. But now itโs up to the club to close the deal with Benfica.โ
The Blues have already made a head start in the transfer window. Fernandez appears to be Chelsea’s next target. The player looks to be open for a move, which is promising for Chelsea. The move for the young player will unfold in the next coming weeks.
