Manchester United manager Ten Hag wants to bring Declan Rice to his team next season when he will be in charge.
However, West Ham has placed a hefty price tag on Rice which will make matters complicated for Ten Hag.
Ten Hag is currently coaching Ajax and will move to take charge of Manchester United next season. Here he intends to make his first transfer to the young midfielder.
News has come out of a complete overhaul of the Red Devils’ team under Ten Hag. Moreover, the need to build up a strong midfield has led to the Dutchman keeping Rice as his prime target.
Moreover, United’s hopes of acquiring the player may have been boosted. As recently Rice turned down West Ham’s third offer to extend his contract. He desires to leave the London club at the end of the season.
However, still Manchester City remains the forerunner to acquire Rice. It seems now that they would be engaged in a bitter competition with their rivals United to sign the Englishman.
While previously it was reported that Rice would go to Chelsea if he was to leave the Hammers.
Still, West Ham remains in pole position from the point of view of negotiations. As Rice still has two years remaining in his contract and the Hammers have the option to extend it by another year.
What did Dean Jones have to say about Rice joining Manchester United?
Jones has reported that Manchester United is eager to sign Rice next season.
However, the deal may not be fructify because of the gigantic price tag attached to Rice.
Jones said,
”They 100% want Declan Rice, but the valuation that West Ham has on him is a hindrance right now because that would blow their entire budget for the summer.”
“While they do want a midfielder, that can’t just be it.”
