Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag eyeing a move for Fulham’s João Palhinha in the summer transfer window.

United are interested in Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha as they look to strengthen their midfield for next season. Palhinha’s attributes are similar to his country-mate. However, The Red Devils will have a busy transfer market in the summer and Ten Hag will like to go for the central midfielder. Next season, the Dutch manager aims to prepare for a renewed Premier League title challenge next season.

According to The Sun, United are keen on Palhinha and could be forced to upwards of £40 million to bring him to Old Trafford. However, Fulham boss Marco Silva is reportedly determined to keep the midfielder for next season. But, they can earn a profit on the transfer as they paid only £17 million to sign him from Sporting just under a year ago.

Palhinha has been excellent for Fulham this season. The 27-year-old has completed more tackles than any other midfielder in Europe’s top five leagues this season.

Henceforth, Newcastle, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, and Tottenham are also monitoring the Brazilian, although United are favorites to land him next season.

CUNDY SUGGESTS PALHINHA MIGHT LEAVE FULHAM NEXT SEASON FOR A BETTER FUTURE

Lastly, Former Chelsea defender Jason Cundy suggests that it will not be surprising if Palhinha leaves in search of big clubs in the future. He further told talkSPORT:-

“I cannot see him being there next year,

“You know when someone says they don’t mean to offend, and then they immediately do! I think a lot of big heads will be looking at him. He is reaching his potential, and he’s a very, very good player.

“If Fulham get offered £50m for him, they’re going to take that. He is, at the peak of his powers, as good as anyone. The only problem is he picks up a lot of bookings. He needs to somehow temper that, but everything else about his game; closing down, winning challenges, scoring goals.”
