“Exceptional”: Liverpool manager praises young defender after Fulham victory

Jurgen Klopp

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp heaped praises for academy star Conor Bradley after Fulham victory. The two sides played the first leg of semi final of Carabao Cup at Anfield. In a dramatic comeback, Liverpool emerges victorious 2-1 over Fulham. Despite having a tough time filling in for the injured Trent Alexander-Arnold, the young player showed great promise. Although he had a tough challenge of Willian, he emerged out to grow in the latter stage of the game. Moreover, he nearly got an assist for Darwin Nunez with only Leno making of fine save. Klopp was thrilled with his performances and says,

Exceptional. What a boy. Fantastic character, real talent, top potential — and he’s in the right team because everybody loves him and respects him and wants him to succeed. It’s really nice.”

The hosts found themselves trailing just after 19 minutes when villian fired a low shot past Kelleher. It was there during the second half when Reds brought on Gakpo and Nunez. The substitutes play the significant role in completing the come back. Nunez was the man delivering the final pass for both the goals. Firstly, Curtis Jones’effort was deflected and then Cody scored a composed finish for the second. The German boss said,

The first half, we had a lot of possession without a lot of outcome. We played too much around the formation and for us now it’s a time that we have to adapt slightly because some of them were not there today. It’s not a problem, you’ve just got to adapt to it. We saw in the first half what’s wrong, it’s just difficult to change it, to talk to the players, to get information out there.”
