Mumbai Indians got off to a blazing start against SRH after skipper Rohit Sharma elected to bat first. Rohit Sharma got out early but the left-hander had a high-performance day. Ishan Kishan had hit Mohammad Nabi for a first-ball six. And continued the momentum till 31 balls.
On 8th of October, it was a subsequent doubleheader. First RCB beaten DC by 7 wickets and then MI won the game by 42 runs. Though, both the games impacted no difference. W already had discovered the 4 teams that qualified for the playoffs.
Delhi capitals is on top with 20 points. CSK and RCB are on second and third spot respectively. Kolkata knight riders started the tournament with a low momentum but finally finished at the number fourth spot.
Why Fans Accused SRH And Mumbai Indians Of Fixing The Match?
It would have been a treat for fans to watch two matches concurrently. But the match against MI and SRH seemed little unrealistic. SRH fielded bad and dropped catches and MI didn’t play good the whole but ended the tournament with such a high impact game. On the other side, SRH started the second innings even better and it seemed pretty possible to win the game but then wickets kept falling. At the end SRH lost the game by 42 runs.
Kane Williamson didn’t play the game and Manish Pandey was the captain for the day.
Though, Rohit Sharma’s Mumbai Indians still had a theoretical chance of getting into playoffs but for that they needed to beat SRH by 172 runs. So, it didn’t happen. KKR had a better run-rate than Mumbai Indians. Thus they grabbed the opportunity and reached to playoffs.
In the second match of the double header which was against RCB and DC was also an explosive match. DC lost the chance when they dropped some very important catches. Though the catches weren’t easy but they will be still counted as dropped catches. But it doesn’t mean that DC had fixed the match with RCB. I think t’s just opinions and emotions resulting in such accusations. MI and SRH didn’t fix the match.
Cricket can be unfaithful for the eyes sometimes. But it’s because of the emotions involved when two teams are playing for their mere respect. Thus accusing teams to fix a match isn’t a valid point without any proof. Though, it was a dramatic match…Both teams ended their season with a good game.
