Fans of Man Utd: Disappointed but not surprised

In two games home and away domestically Liverpool beat Man Utd with an aggregate of 9-0. For Liverpool, it’s all about the title race and these three points push them two points clear of Manchester City who’ll be locking horns against Brighton on 21st April at the Etihad stadium.

For Manchester United, it was a sobering evening. where they again threw the towel away by blowing their chance to seal a spot in the top 4. Shockingly they can still qualify for Champions League because of the teams around them.

Thiago was no footballer today but a magician, who was in charge of the game and one of the best midfield displays of this season.

Manchester United was diabolically toothless and was no hurdle for the Merseyside. The rivalry still exists but throwing away a two-goal lead against the bottom of the table Norwich is a joke. This is a team that played heartless against Everton, this is a team that can’t win a game.

Rangnick and Man Utd

We need to look at Rangnick and his coaches and they don’t come out unscathed all this period.

There are no signs of any visible changes, especially the high energy pressing for which Rangnick is known. The only thing brilliant was the goalkeeper’s performance and how he bailed United out. When Ten Hag comes in, De Gea is going in accompanied by 10 other question marks.

A lot of questions have been raised over the decision of putting Phil Jones. Phil Jones against the three quickest strikers in the world and a couple of more to come when he gets tired.

Phil Jones with just one start in two years had spent most of his time recovering from injury. Eric Bailly was on the bench for the whole game even though he was fit. Expecting commitment from the team of Man Utd is just about getting disappointed. The team needs a ruthless leader because at moment the team lacks leadership in every aspect.

Man Utd vs. Liverpool is still a big fixture for the fans but the team never turned up to play like it means something.
