FC Barcelona are ready to compete with rivals Real Madrid for Kylian Mbappe. It is stated that Barcelona is ready to offer a better deal to the Frenchman.
Paris Saint-Germain forward, Kylian Mbappe, has been in major transfer talks for over a year. Several big clubs were linked to the star striker, who is ready for an exit from PSG. The club linked with this transfer the most is none other than super giant, Real Madrid.
Even though Mbappe is highly linked with Madrid, Barca is ready to convince him to join the club. They are ready to offer a stronger contract than their rivals.
Barcelona approaching Kylian Mbappe despite having financial setbacks
It is no secret that Barca is in a tremendously huge debt. As per reports, the Blaugrana have an acculmulated debt of £1.16 billion. This value was so high that the club was unable to renew the contract of their greatest ever player – Lionel Messi.
However, Barcelona are reportedly ready to offer £76 million for Kylian while Real Madrid are only willing to pay £42 million.
With almost £34 million more, Barca are ready to go toe to toe with Real to sign Mbappe after his contract expires in 2022.
Mbappe’s dream to join Real Madrid
The 22-yrs-old Frenchman has often talked about his desire to join Madrid. As a Cristiano Ronaldo fan, he always dreamed of playing for the Madridistas. At present, he seems to be eagerly pushing for a move to the Santiago Bernabéu.
Madrid had offered a late €160m bid for Mbappe. Since PSG declined the initial call, Madrid offered another staggering bid worth €170m. Unfortunately, Real failed to sign the generational talent as PSG turned down both offers in hopes of a contract renewal.
Madrid are now prepared to sign Mbappe as a free agent with his contract expiring in June 2022. Manager Carlo Ancelotti has also included Kylian in his future plans. Even club captain Karim Benzema has spoken about playing with his fellow Frenchman stating –
“Playing with Mbappe at Real Madrid? Why not. I’ve always said it, I hope one day.”
At the moment, Mbappe’s exit from PSG has been halted with Real Madrid being the most likely destination for him next year.
