Ferrari 2023 car under question over design legalities

Ferrari 2023

Ferrari recently unveiled their 2023 challenger in a live show which attracted a lot of attention over its design.

Ferrari and Red bull were the clear front runners when the 2022 season kicked off last year. Both teams understood and designed the best cars according to the new regulations.

However, soon enough, the Scuderia lost momentum thanks to strategic errors and engine reliabilities.

Regardless, Ferrari recently revealed their 2023 title challenger – the SF23 in a live show. The car performed laps in front of a live audience at Ferrari’s headquarters in Maranello.

The new car attracted a lot of attention, especially a little tweak in the design. Ferrari introduced the S-duct design concept meant for cooling. However, the side might have tweaked the concept to gain better aerodynamic performance on the track.

Now, an Italian outlet namely Formu1a.uno has indicated that other teams have raised an objection over the design.

According to the outlet, the rival teams are asking if the design solution is legal. The concept is believed to be providing aerodynamic gains to the SF-23.

Such requests are not new in Formula 1. The teams and mechanics are known for pushing the boundaries of the regulations to gain an extra tenth of lap time. Ferrari is confident of the solutions and are certain that they are within the legalities of FIA.

It will be more interesting to see if the new design really helps Ferrari. Can the Scuderia once again start the season on top like last year?
