Frank Lampard has reportedly hit back at Jorginho’s criticism about him. Jorginho earlier criticized the former Chelsea coach as he said that Lampard needed more experience before joining a big club.
The Blues legend had a superb first-year stint at the club. He helped them finish 3rd in the Premier League 2019-20 season. However, he was sacked in the second half of this season due to a poor lack of form and the club was at 8th position in the league standings.
Jorginho has been a crucial player for the London club and is their penalty specialist. But, his comments have not been appreciated by his former head coach at Stamford Bridge.
Lampard proves Jorginho wrong about his criticism
According to The Telegraph, Lampard was hurt after losing his job as the Chelsea manager. But, he is proud of how they are performing under Thomas Tuchel. Jorginho expressed his point of view concerning Lampard’s appointment as the head coach. He said as follows,
“I think he came too soon, skipped a few steps ahead, and wasn’t ready for a job at this level, to be honest.”
However, as per the same source mentioned above, Frank Lampard wasn’t happy with this comment by the 29-year-old defensive midfielder. He said,
“It’s always going to be a fact as a manager when you leave a club, there will be some players who did not play so much and they might have a feeling or a judgment on how you work and they can make statements.”
Frank Lampard hasn’t won a trophy yet for Derby County and Chelsea as a manager. Currently, the 43-year-old coach is rumored to take the job at Crystal Palace or maybe at West Bromwich Albion.
The Pensioners face Aston Villa next in the Premier League before locking horns with Manchester City in this season’s UEFA Champions League final. The search for a first trophy at the Blues continues for the current coach, Thomas Tuchel.
