Four players who can leave Manchester United in the January transfer window

Manchester United is likely to trim their squad in the January transfer window. However, it is unlikely that they will make some new additions to the squad. Some players have been at United for quite a long time now. However, they now struggle to get game time due to a lack of form.

Ralf Rangnick will be stepping down as the interim manager in the summer when a permanent manager joins. Moreover, there won’t be many recruitments to the side in the winter transfer window. However, the German manager may trim his large squad which also helps United to control their wages.

Manchester United will be competing in three competitions and they will need more options going forward. However, Rangnick has made similar rotations in the few matches he has managed. Moreover, the players who are likely to leave do not see their future at United and it can be the best move for them.

However, the names that will go can be some big names who have helped United a lot in the past. Nevertheless, they have very little to offer now and are free to go if they want to. Rangnick has already confirmed that Martial has expressed that he wants to leave.

Which four players can leave Manchester United in the January transfer window?

Anthony Martial

The Frenchman seems to have reached the end of his Manchester United career. He doesn’t seem to have the pace or quality that he previously showed for United. He got a few chances to show if he has still got it but the answer was very clear to everyone.

Jesse Lingard

Jesse Lingard revived his career with a loan spell at West Ham. He expected the same to happen at United but unfortunately, that was not the case. United’s summer additions in 2021 have pushed Lingard back in the pecking order. The England international is also expected to leave due to a lack of game time.

Donny van de Beek

Donny van de Beek must have thought he got a second chance under Rangnick but even under Rangnick he is not getting enough game time. It’s the same case for which many fans fought when Solskjaer was in charge. The Dutchman might get frustrated and can leave United in the winter transfer window.

Juan Mata

The 33-year-old Spaniard does not have the legs to constantly compete in the Premier League. Moreover, his contract is due to expire at end of June and Real Sociedad remains interested. Mata has had some great moments at United but the time has now come for him to move on.

This move seems understandable from United as many players are on high wages and have very little to offer. However, they have to get a grip on their games and results. The players leaving now will help the new manager coming in summer to make some recruitments for the next season.
