Sheffield United’s winning start under Paul Heckingbottom continues with a win over stuttering Championship leaders Fulham thanks to Iliman Ndiaye’s stunning solo goal.

In the game’s first significant assault. Ndiaye burst from his half and slipped an inch-perfect shot into the bottom corner from 20 yards.

For the most part, Fulham had drawn their previous four games. Controlled possession but were unable to threaten the Blades goal.

In time added on, Championship top scorer Aleksandar Mitrovic crashed an attempt against the angle of the post and crossbar. Before Harry Wilson fired the rebound wide as the visitors held on for a three-point victory.

John Fleck, a midfielder for Sheffield United. Made his first appearance since falling on the ground against Reading in November as a second-half replacement.

The traveling supporters greeted the Scotland international with a standing ovation as he went on the field. And he was able to assist his team in securing their fourth consecutive victory and third in a row under Heckingbottom.

Ndiaye, a 21-year-old Frenchman. Opened the score for the Blades when he carried the ball 20 yards inside his half before putting in a composed finish from the edge of the box.

Why did Fulham lose the game?

After a free-kick fell at his feet 10 yards out. Neeskens Kebano shot barely wide for the home side, but that, along with some adventurous runs from Wilson were the only bright points in the first 45 minutes in which Marco Silva’s side saw plenty of the ball but lacked the cutting edge.

Mitrovic, who has now scored once in his last four games for Fulham, headed over early in the second half as Fulham looked to get back into the game.

Full-back blades when Jayden Bogle was played in down the right side, he could have done better, but he decided to cut inside and the opportunity was lost. Billy Sharp also hit the roof of the net with a rocket, but his strike was ruled out for offside.
