Gabriel Jesus could face a problem at Arsenal after Arteta’s warning

Gabriel Jesus made his return after being out for a long time since the World Cup. This was a treat to the Arsenal fan’s eyes, seeing the player return to the pitch. Arsenal faced Fulham on the weekend and managed a 3-0 victory against them. Furthermore seeing Gabriel Jesus make an appearance in the match was the icing on the cake for the fans. The Gunners had already had the 3 points in the bag, courtesy to their fine first half performance. Arsenal have coped up well without Gabriel Jesus for the last few months after the player went through a surgery. Leandro Trossard was the player who played in the number nine position for this match. He was orthodox number-9 in the box and even tore Fulham apart in his role. He even received a standing ovation from the travelling fans when he came off and was replaced by Jesus.

Gabriel Jesus could face problem in the current Arsenal squad

Given to Arteta’s current starting line-up, it is hard to see Gabriel Jesus fitting in. It will indeed be hard for the manager to accommodate the Brazilian in the current attacking line-up. The manager have even alluded in his post match interview that Gabriel Jesus will have to earn back his place in the squad. Although he claimed for it to be a good thing to have some competition in the team. However with time this could end up being a big issue for the Gunners. Trossard would be naturally the odd one in the current three attacking players. Given to the consistency Saka and Martinelli have showed this season. But after seeing Trossard’s recent performance against Fulham, it is safe to say that he have managed to make an impression. And if Trossard continues to be this good, Jesus may face the same problem he did at Manchester City.

If Arteta decides to follow Guardiola’s footsteps regarding the player’s situation, then Gabriel Jesus might encounter a deja vu here at Arsenal as well.
