It’s the football team owned by RPSG Ventures Ltd. And they are the one that bought the Lucknow IPL franchise for a record INR 7,090 crore.

According to ESPNcricinfo, Ganguly has begun the process of stepping down from his position. It is India’s most illustrious and well-known football club.

Ganguly is a stakeholder as well as a director on the Mohun Bagan board of directors. Ganguly is expected to take down from his job of director for the duration of his presidency of the BCCI in order to avoid conflicts.

After RPSG vice-chairman Sanjiv Goenka told CNBC-TV 18 on Monday that Ganguly was on the verge of stepping down, the topic of the conflict arose. Goenka is the owner of Mohun Bagan and the Lucknow IPL franchise, which has yet to be named.

“Well, I think he is going to step down from Mohun Bagan completely… I think today,”

Sourav is the one who will make the decision, Goenka informed a business television network. Apparently, if Ganguly does not resign from one of his positions, it will appear that he is not entirely committed.

The rule stipulates that the person in question, or a relative, partner, or close colleague, has a stake in the outcome. This includes situations involving family members, partners, or close associates. And it may, or may appear to, jeopardise individual engagement, performance, and role discharge.

This isn’t the first time Ganguly has been caught in a conflict of interest situation with his BCCI role. In Indian cricket, it is unethical and unprofessional to hold multiple positions. Ganguly and VVX Laxman had previously been discovered to be at odds. As a result, he will be stepping down as director of Mohun Bagan in the near future.
