Former Premier League stars Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer have the same opinion on one thing about Chelsea. Micah Richards, Shearer and Lineker believe that Chelsea have been ridiculous since last season. Though Blues finished previous year with two back to back victories and a qualification to semi final of Carabao Cup. However, it it will not be enough to neglect their turbulent form since past 12 months. Fans witnessed many faces in the managerial role but the results were same. Their latest manager Mauricio Pochettino is also trying to tune a very expensive squad. Although, he is also unable to produce an outcome with the squad so far.

Speaking on The Rest Is Football podcast, the three replied when picking the biggest underachievers of the year.

Lineker said: “I’m going to have to say Chelsea. The amount of money they have spent, they are definitely underachieving.

Shearer agreed: “It’s going to have to be Chelsea, with the ridiculous amount of money that has been spent there for them to be still be in mid table, one week you think they’re okay, the next you think how bad are they. It has to be Chelsea.

Richards added: “Yeah, agreed – it’s a triple threat. We’re all Chelsea. The players they have as well, they have some really talented players.”

The fans at Stamford Bridge will hope for a remarkable second half of the season. The reign of Pochettino will be considered as a flop if he fails to change the scenario at the end of the season. However, a European qualification is still in the reach for the Argentine. Given the quality of team, Chelsea can still manage a decent finish if the players start to complement each other’s play style.
