Potter holds talks with Mudryk about his snub

Pochettino

Graham Potter has yet to get the best out of Mykhailo Mudryk since arriving in Chelsea from Shakhtar Donetsk.

The Ukrainian joined Chelsea for £89 million in the last transfer window. But he had struggled in the initial phase of his new club, due to which Graham Potter has held private talks with Mudryk as to why he is not featuring in starting XI. The Former Brighton manager persists in playing the trio of João Felix, Raheem Sterling, and Kai Havertz.

Mykhailo made a bright start to his Chelsea career when he caused all kinds of trouble against Liverpool in January. But since then, the Ukrainian forced to watch from the sidelines after failing to impress against Fulham and West Ham.

However, Chelsea insider Simon Phillips has reported that Potter held Mudryk behind the scenes to explain why he is not featuring in starting XI.

POTTER PRAISED MARC CUCURELLA IN HIS RECENT PRESS-CONFERENCE

Potter praised Marc Cucurella and the manager reported he has been protecting the full-back from criticism from Supporters. He further claimed:-

“I think he got man of the match, if the result hadn’t gone our way – you know the consequences.”

I’m delighted for him, when you’re having a bad time like we are and we’ve had, you accept the criticism.

“Marc has dealt with it well, we’ve tried to shield him but at the same time, I feel like we picked the right moment tonight regardless of what’s happened.

“I thought with Benoit [Badiashile] not available, he just gave us that balance in the back-three with his left foot and he delivered a top performance.”

Potter has continued to heavily rotate the squad after going in search of a winning formula.
